MX - Clusters / Markers

The beacons were heard throughout the month on all cluster frequencies. Besides C, S, P and F, M re-appeared. M transmitted from Magadan in the past and probably still does because the best reception of the beacon is in the Far East. I received a couple of logs from the eastern part of Russia, Australia and the USA as well. M can be found on the following clusters: 8495, 10872, 13528 and 16332 kHz, and solo on 4588 kHz.

A faulty or special edition of M is on the air since early February on the same frequencies. The call sign is "MMMMMI". This signal is mostly heard on 10872 and 13528 kHz. I asked Igor, Takashi and Eddy, who live in the area, to monitor these frequencies for a while and the results were really nice. Eddy copied series of dashes on both frequencies while Igor heard -..... (T5) on the same frequencies and Takashi checks in with marker "TEEEEE" on 3594, 4588, 7039, 8495, 10872, 13528, and 16332 kHz. No sign of M this day. Weird huh?

Unid 1468 kHz Station

Last month I mentioned the unid CW station on odd frequency 1468 kHz. Petr keeps hearing the station between 0400-0430 when it signs off. He says that a similar station is active at the same time on 3249 kHz with a very loud signal in the Czech Republic. According to Petr the signal is so loud that it should be audible throughout Europe. Although the time of the transmissions seems to be fixed, the days vary.

M24

"I copied M24 at 2110 UTC on 18562 kHz", wrote Mark Slaten on Saturday 24 February and he added a copy of the messages.

L9CC

(somehow this didn't appear in N&O #33)

L9CC is one of those stations that can be found all over the place. It has been around for a number of years. Recently the Bandwacht of the DARC reported that RegTP Konstanz, the German Telecommunications Authority, states that the L9CC transmitter is located near Moscow. The only thing that it sends is an endless slip, no other messages were copied so far.
